✨ Life has been moving so fast these past few weeks, it feels like I’ve lived three months in just one. Between moving, celebrating baby girl’s 3rd birthday, and even going to my very first concert (Chris Brown did not disappoint 🎶), it’s been a whirlwind.
But in the midst of all the chaos, I had an epiphany. At the concert, I felt good. Not just because of the music, but because I looked good—and that shifted my intensions on how I carry myself.
It made me realize when I take the time to be intentional about how I show up for myself, I feel different. More alive. More magnetic. More me. The classic saying, when you look good, you feel good. It was the feel-good part that really resonated with me. I haven’t felt good about the way I look in a long time and it continually showed up in how I presented myself to the world. T shirts and jeans at work, pajamas and torn shirts at home. Let’s not even talk about the hair lol the messy bun will only take you so far.
I’ve been really thinking about this concept of shifting your identity. While I don’t necessarily want to become a whole new person (motherhood took care of that) I do want to enhance the person that I’ve become and take her more seriously.
And the truth is—it doesn’t always take a huge overhaul to feel that shift. Sometimes it’s as simple as refreshing your hair, putting on a bold lip, slipping into a pair of earrings, or choosing an outfit that reflects how you want to feel. Little things that say: I’m present. I’m here. I value myself enough to show up fully. Honor that version of you that you’re wanting to step into.
Sometimes the transformation doesn’t come from big, dramatic changes. Sometimes it’s the quiet, intentional shifts that say: I see you. I value you. I’m showing up for you.
So, here’s your reminder mama: don’t wait for a special occasion to step into the best version of yourself or put on that outfit that gets you noticed and makes you feel like a baddie. Start now, with what you have, and watch how it changes the way you move through the world. 💫
Love,
Ashley
